Investigation of the fundamental moral, social, and political questions raised by reflection on American constitutional thought. Readings in the classics of American politics, and of liberal political theory. Analysis of constitutional jurisprudence, and of influential works of American political thought and rhetoric. Special focus on theories of constitutional interpretation, and on the methodology of political theory. Writing-intensive seminar for sophomores.
